Coast Guard sinks Japanese 'ghost ship' adrift since earthquake, tsunami
A Canadian fishing vessel, the 62-foot Bernice C, had claimed salvage rights over the ghost ship in international waters, but was unable to tow the 164-foot Ryou-Un Maru. The Coast Guard then poured cannon fire into it and sunk it in the Gulf of Alaska.
