New Hampshire Lawmakers Consider Measure on D.C. Vote

D.C. politicians, including Mayor Adrian Fenty, are heading to New Hampshire next week - and not just for the presidential primary.
Lawmakers in New Hampshire are considering a measure rebuking the state's two U.S. senators for opposing a bill to grant D.C. a vote in Congress. Fenty and several D.C. Council members plan to testify Wednesday at a hearing in Concord.
Republican Senators John Sununu and Judd Gregg voted with party leaders against giving the D.C. vote bill an up-or-down vote last September. The bill fell three votes short of ending a filibuster.
Cindy Rosenwald, a member of the state House of Representatives, sponsored the measure that would express "regret" over the senators' votes. She says she was struck by D.C. license plates, which carry the slogan "Taxation Without Representation."
D.C. Council member David Catania says it's time to look for support outside Washington to help gain a vote in Congress.
