Police in D.C. and Montgomery County are looking for bank robbers who disguised themselves as armored car drivers.
Montgomery County police say a man dressed in an armored guard uniform held up a BB&T Bank on Georgia Avenue in Wheaton by telling workers there he was filling in for the regular courier. Employees handed him an undisclosed amount of money and he left. Bank workers realized what happened the next day, when the regular courier came to make a pickup.

A Wachovia Bank on Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest Washington was held up Friday morning by a man dressed as a Brinks armored car guard. He also was given an undisclosed amount of money and walked out. Workers at that bank discovered they'd been robbed when the regular courier showed up that afternoon.
Montgomery County and D.C. police detectives are working together to determine if the robberies are related.
