O'Malley Promotes College Tuition Initiative
posted 7:22 am Mon January 14, 2008 - Landover, Md.
Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley plans to talk about an initiative to make college tuition more affordable Monday.

In his first year, O'Malley made a priority out of stopping significant tuition increases students have had to grapple with in recent years.

However, not everyone in Annapolis thinks Maryland colleges can keep tuition from rising.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?Senate President Mike Miller said last week that colleges need to be able to raise tuition.

O'Malley also is scheduled to make an announcement Monday about a homeownership initiative.

It's the third in a series of events O'Malley has scheduled to present his legislative agenda and budget priorities for the 2008 legislative session, which began last week.
