Williams Interviews Again With Redskins
posted 7:10 pm Mon January 14, 2008 - Ashburn, Va.
Assistant coach Gregg Williams interviewed again Monday for the Washington Redskins coaching vacancy, and the team was also making plans to speak to Indianapolis Colts assistants Jim Caldwell and Ron Meeks. Owner Dan Snyder met for the third time with Williams, who has been in charge of the Redskins' defense since 2004. Williams had a preliminary interview Wednesday and his first full session with the owner Saturday.

The interviews were confirmed by a person familiar with the selection process. He spoke on condition of anonymity because the Redskins haven't publicly stated the names of any candidates.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion? The person said Snyder has several more candidates he wishes to interview, including Caldwell and Meeks. The Redskins have already spoken to Tennessee Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz and at least one other candidate.

The process picked up speed when the Colts were upset in the AFC playoffs Sunday by the San Diego Chargers, freeing up Caldwell and Meeks to be contacted this week.

The Redskins are looking for a successor to Joe Gibbs, who resigned last week.
