Investigators believe a teller at one of two Washington-area banks robbed last week may have been the group's ring leader.

Elizabeth Tarke was one of six people arrested Saturday as part of a joint investigation with Montgomery County Police and FBI agents. Tarke and the other suspects were charged with robbing the BB&T Bank in Wheaton, where she works.
Last Wednesday, one of the suspects impersonated a security guard and tricked bank employees into handing over a large some of money.
When the regular guard arrived the following day during the scheduled pick-up, he informed the bank manager that the man was not an employee with their security company and authorities were called.
Investigators tell the Washington Post they have now connected Tarke with Thursday's theft at a Wachovia bank in D.C.
The Post reports that officers found a list at Tarke's Olney home with nine names dividing the nearly $1 million in stolen cash from the two thefts.
