An Annapolis woman claims her boyfriend tied her to a bed frame for nearly 12 hours and didn't let her off until he and their child got hungry.

Around 2 p.m. on Friday at the Newtowne Drive home, the couple started arguing and according to the police report, 24-year-old Shane Somerville started punching the victim in the eye. She also told police that Somerville threw her to the ground, choked and kicked her. She called 911 using his cell phone, but he allegedly hung it up before she could talk to police. Police say Somerville dragged her to a bedroom and tied her to a bed with shoe laces for nearly 12 hours. Police did show up at the home for the disconnected 911 call. He told police a child was playing with the phone. The victim was allegedly tied up until the next day without food or water. According to police reports, "Somerville only untied her because he was hungry and wanted her to make him and the baby lunch."

The police report continues to say Somerville threatened the victim if she fled. She called police when he fell asleep. Somerville is charged with assault and false imprisonment.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion? This isn't the first incident between the couple, according to court records. In 2005, the two were in court after the victim in the bed-tying case pled guilty to throwing a rock at Somerville's car.

Please know that most women who are abused don't leave just because he is remorseful. They don't leave because they truly believe he loves them and cannot believe that someone who says they love them would hurt them. It takes a great deal of strength to leave a man who says he loves you. Just as much strength as it takes to leave a man who threatens your life or the life of your child(ren). Preoccupied was correct is saying it gets worse when there is a court order. Especially since we do not have enough police to enforce them. I left my first husband after he beat me repeatedly, but not before I tried to kill my self first. That woke me up. But most women that are beaten, just can't believe it is happening to them. Please have compassion and not judgement for these women.
