Drivers AND pedestrians need to be more aware of what's around them on the roadways AND be more considerate of others. I'm a full time pedestrian, I cross at crosswalks with the traffic lights and it never fails, I always - ALWAYS - have to dodge traffic which comes barrelling through the red lights or fails to stop at stop signs. I know a lot of pedestrians take stupid chances, but drivers need to do their part to keep the roads safe, too.
