Police in Montgomery County are investigating an early morning sexual assault in Chevy Chase Village.


Montgomery County police and Chevy Chase Village police officers responded to the area of Connecticut Avenue and Newlands Street sometime after 3:30 a.m. Sunday where a 24-year-old D.C. woman was attacked.

The victim struggled against the assault and the suspect fled on foot. Authorities transported the victim to an area hospital for examination. She sustained scrapes and bruises from the struggle.

Police described the suspect as an Asian male between 25-to-32 years of age, standing between 5'7" to 5'10" tall, and weighing approximately 180 pounds. He was wearing dark clothing and has short black hair.
