Fans with season tickets could pay a pretty penny for parking at the Nationals new ballpark.
The parking system around the stadium is divided into four zones. Two onsite garages will provide parking for about a quarter of the 5,000 season ticket holders expected to buy spaces. The Nationals are cobbling together the rest from neighborhood garages and surface lots.

Those who want a spot in the closest zone to the stadium will pay $2,835 for 81 home dates or $35 per game. The cheapest parking spot in one of the zones is $15 per game or $1,215 for all 81 games.
Many residents in the surrounding neighborhood look with dred toward the upcoming baseball season. They fear the loss of their parking spaces and the traffic.
"We worry about emergencies. God forbid someone has a heart attack or is in need of emergency assistance," said District resident Anne Rensberger.
