Not sure what happened either, but good thing Kwame Brown is on the case. He wants answers. So I guess since he stomps his feet and demands answers, he'll get some. Here's an answer; a couple of construction workers with too much time on their hands decided it would be funny to make a noose out of some cable. Now, I know that's not quite involved enough for Kwame, he'll want to show links to some terrorist orginzation, or relate it to gun control, or the state of the public schools or something. Might need to start a coalition, or have an awareness day, or a march...yeah a march, that would do it.

BIG DEAL. A GROUP OF CONSTRUCTION WORKERS INVOLVED IN A RACIAL INCIDENT. I WONDER HOW MANY RACIAL INCIDENTS THEY HAVE HAD AT THE POST THROUGHOUT THE YEARS.

Some people are just too stupid to understand stupid!

If you think you are better than anyone else, then prove it by being the better person by having the better behavior!

I can help shed some light on the rather unclear story. The two events are in no way connected. The foreman that made the remarks to the five workers was fired at the time of that occurance. The idiots that are involved in the hanging of the noose were also fired and it is true that they had just been put on the job. I'm surprised that two people that would make such a dumb decision would even pass the drug test required upon arrival at the new stadium. Although the things that have gone on are very unfortunate I greatly hope it does not affect the reputation of Truland. They are a great company to work for and should not be judged for the unacceptable behavior of a few bad apples...that were quickly dissposed of.

Novanewsjunkie2, I agree that the article as written is hard to decipher, but I have a completely different take on the situation than you do. To me, it reads as if the five black electricians were fired after a Truland employee criticized their work and made what they (the fired electricians) deemed to be racially derogatory remarks. That is insane, and if it's true, I certainly hope that Truland also fired the employee accused of making the remarks, if any merit was found in the claim. If the situation was actually one where the five black electricians made the racially derogatory remarks and they were subsequently fired, then they were severely punished for their choice of words. If the first scenario was correct, and the remarks were directed at them and they were still fired, while the employee making the racial remarks was not, then that's insane. Either way, I would interpret the silence about the comments toward and firing of the black workers as being the racist acts. Sadly, even in 2008, that doesn't even make the news 'til something symbolic like a noose appears.

"five black electricians were fired after a Truland worker criticized their work and made what they believed were racially derogatory remarks."

Who made the "racially derogatory remarks"? The black guys or someone else? If it was the black guys then why wasn't the news all over that reporting it as hard and heavy as they do something like this? Where is AL when that happened?

So let's get this straight, when a minority makes a racially derogatory remark, they get a free pass from Al, Jesse, and the press but if "ol whitey" does it it makes the front page of a web site, TV, and I am sure Al will make an appearance.

Any questions about who really likes to keep the "racial divide" going?
