TONIGHT, WE WANT TO INTRODUCE YOU TO A "WORKING WOMAN" WHO IS HELPING TROOPS IN IRAQ, IN A VERY UNIQUE WAY. SOLDIERS AND SKIN CREAM ARE AN UNLIKELY COMBINATION. BUT ALISON STARLING SHOWS US WHY THEY'RE EAGER TO GET HER NEW INVENTION.

Story:
ESTHETICIAN SARA DAMELIO HAS WORKED FOR YEARS, PERFECTING HER ORGANIC SKIN CREAM. SHE MAKES IT BY HAND, COMBINING OILS, BEES WAX, BLACK SPRUCE AND OTHER NATURAL PRODUCTS. AT 25 DOLLARS A JAR, YOU'D EXPECT IT'S BIGGEST FANS TO BE SALON REGULARS, NOT AMERICAN SOLIDERS.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?Sara Damelio: "It makes me feel great it's just wonderful to know that I can support our troops in some way."

IT STARTED WHEN MARK POPCHAK'S WIFE INCLUDED A JAR OF COMBAT-READY BALM IN HIS CARE PACKAGE TO RAMADI, IRAQ. SHE KNEW HE WAS MISERABLE AND CONSTANTLY ITCHING FROM SAND FLEA BITES. WHAT HAPPENED NEXT SURPRISED EVEN THE BALM'S CREATOR.

Sara Damelio: "He said that he put it on and the next morning the problem was gone, the bites, the itching, the rash, was absolutely healed."

POPCHACK RAVED ABOUT THE BALM, AND STARTED SHARING IT WITH HIS BATTALION. THEY ASKED FOR MORE, AND DAMELIO NOW REGULARLY DONATES CARE PACKAGES TO SERVICE MEMBERS.

Sara Damelio: "The fact that this helps them that it actually heals their skin and brings them comfort to me is fantastic."

DAMELIO SAYS THE COMBAT READY BALM IS GOOD FOR SUNBURN, CUTS AND DRY SKIN, MORE PROBLEMS OUR SERVICE MEMBERS FACE ON A REGULAR BASIS.

DAMELIO SAYS IT TAKES ABOUT TWO HOURS TO MAKE 25 JARS, AND SHE WANTS TO CONTINUE MAKING IT BY HAND. WITH RECENT DEMAND, THAT MAY MEAN INCREASING HER STAFF IN THE NEAR FUTURE.
