(Sports Network) - Denver Nuggets star forward Carmelo Anthony will miss three-to-four weeks after Tuesday's visit with a hand specialist confirmed the sixth-year player has a non-displaced third metacarpal fracture on his right hand.
Anthony suffered the injury during the third quarter of Monday's 135-115 victory over Indiana. The forward finished the game despite favoring the hand, which will be placed in a splint, and chipped in 21 points, nine assists and six rebounds.
In 31 games this season, Anthony is averaging 21.1 points, 7.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists for the Nuggets, who entered Tuesday's action atop the Northwest Division.
The third overall pick of the stocked 2003 NBA draft has not played a full 82- game slate since his rookie season.
