WASHINGTON - Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department
(web | news) are investigating a shooting in D.C.'s Columbia Heights neighborhood.
Police report a 16-year-old boy was shot near a recreation center at 14th Street and Girard Street Northwest Monday night.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the hand and has been transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There is no word at this time on a shooter or a motive for the crime.
A 17-year-old male was shot and killed Friday night a couple of blocks away in Columbia Heights.
