UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - Police are continuing to investigate the double homicide of a Prince George's County couple found dead at their home in a gated community in Upper Marlboro.
Authorities report at some point this week, someone broke into the home on the 14500 block of Turner Wotten Parkway in Upper Marlboro and fatally shot 36-year-old, three-months-pregnant Eunis Baah and stabbed 40-year-old Seth Aidoo repeatedly.
Just Saturday night, Baah's cousins, Susan Dixon and Abigail Ellis, attended Aidoo's 40th birthday party in the nearly 6,000 square foot home. "They were very happy, dancing, you know," said Dixon.
"The last time I spoke to my cousin was Monday... she calls you right back," Dixon said. "I'm still stunned. Like I'm dreaming, I don't think it's real."
Friends and family said the couple, who were found dead in the basement, had no enemies. Authorities confirm Baah was shot in the head and Aidoo was stabbed multiple times.
"Right now, we're waiting for the autopsy report to come through [to] let us know the exact cause of death of both of the two victims," said Sgt. Tammy Sparkman of the Prince George's County Police Department.
A bullet pierced one of the walls in the Ghanaian couple's home and broke through a neighbor's window. The damage in the neighbor's home wasn't noticed until Wednesday morning, but now it is considered a part of the crime scene.
A neighbor who declined to be on camera told ABC 7/NewsChannel 8 reporter John Gonzalez she heard what sounded like a gunshot Monday night. At the time, she said she thought it was just a car backfiring.
Police report there is evidence of forced entry in the rear of the house. That has some neighbors especially on edge at the idea that the crime could have been random.
"I know that there is no way on earth that Seth would do anything to hurt Eunis or Eunis would do anything to hurt Seth," Dixon said.
Concerned neighbors said if this was a random crime, they are appalled the suspect gained access to the gated community so easily. "I've noticed people come in behind other people after the gate has been opened," said T. McDonald, a neighbor. "There is a way to get in."
Aidoo's vehicle, a silver 2001 Mercedes-Benz, turned up on the morning of Jan. 13 in Glenarden on the 7900 block of Johnson Avenue. Police are also going through hundreds of hours of security video provided by the private Oak Creek community where the couple lived. They say they should be able to see the Mercedes and possibly the driver leaving the scene of the crime.
Authorities also say Aidoo rented rooms in the home to borders. They too, police say, will be questioned.
