Fire Engine Strikes Pedestrian

A D.C. fire engine struck a pedestrian in Northwest Saturday night.

Authorities say the man was struck at the corner of 14th Street and Randolph Street, NW around 12:30 a.m.

ABC 7 News myTAKE - What's Your Opinion?Police say as Engine 11 approached the intersection with its lights and sirens flashing, the 43-year-old victim suddenly darted across the street.

The man was transported to Washington Hospital Center's MedSTAR Unit in critical condition.

The fire engine stayed on the scene.

Investigators say the victim was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

WOW no comments...if the story would have been the same but the Fire Truck would hve been switched with a Metro bus..folks would have been all over this.
