I once had a problem with a mail order catalog company. I could not get past the automated phone system. I checked the catalog and called the company that published the catalog (often not the same as the company selling things in the catalog) then asked for a got a point of contact at the parent company. I got the catalog sales office and a transfer to the presidents phone.

I have had a similar automated problem with a Satallite Co. They made appointments, I took off work, one person showed up, decided he didn't want to install the cable that day and would be back. Again I took off work, no one showed. This happened 4 times, each time as much as 2 hours on the automated, pushing numbers, and hitting O got me nowhere. After a number of days and finally screaming in the phone, today "someone" will be there to install. We hope.

Maybe it's all a scam to get you further behind in your debt so that the Collection Agency can get more money in the end. It doesn't make sense why they can't respond to you!

okay, best thing? I'm trying to pay off an old debt at a collection agency. I cannot get a person for 35 minutes despite pressing "0", '1" and anything else I can think of. I keep getting routed to full mailboxes!! then an "attendant" that is a mailbox . I want their job!!

One would think a collection agency would have people answering the phone. No wonder there's so many people in default, they can't get a human to work out their problem. Sheesh
