Jones Excited To Play for Orioles

New Orioles outfielder Adam Jones says he wants not only to meet the fans' expectations, he wants to reach even higher. Jones is expected to be the team's regular center fielder. He's coming to Baltimore as part of the five-player deal that sent pitcher Erik Bedard to Seattle.
Jones says he's very excited to be playing alongside right fielder Nick Markakis. The two players were teammates in the Arizona Fall League in 2005, and Jones says he's honored to play with Markakis and wear the Orioles uniform.
The other featured player in the trade is left-handed reliever George Sherrill. He logged more than 70 appearances for Seattle in both of the past two seasons. Although he had just four saves with Seattle, he could be in contention to be the Orioles' closer.
