Teacher Killed in Police-involved Crash

Friends and family are mourning the Fairfax County teacher who died at the height of the ice storm Tuesday night when her car collided with a Fairfax County police cruiser in Hybla Valley.
McIntosh, a kindergarten teacher at Clermont Elementary School, got engaged over Christmas.
"She was probably at her happiest right now," said McIntosh's cousin, Nancy Fife.
"Not a mean bone in her body. And she really, she was my lifeline and now she's gone," said her father, John McIntosh.
McIntosh had just finished voting and running errands about 5 p.m. Tuesday night when, police say, she turned on to Route One and Boswell Drive at the same time a 22-year-old police officer was traveling northbound on Route One. Investigators say the cruiser's lights were activated because she was responding to a call. The cruiser crashed into McIntosh's car.
"The weather, roadway, traffic conditions, time of day - all those factors and many more will be considered involving the crash investigating itself," said Ofc. Don Gotthard, with Fairfax County Police.
The McIntosh family says it will leave the investigation to police.
"If it was this police officer's fault, or whatever it was, she made a mistake. You gotta forgive," said John McIntosh.
The Fairfax County Police Chief promises the family a complete investigation into the crash.
