Mikulski to Hold Foreclosure Roundtables
posted 6:09 am Thu February 21, 2008 - RIVERDALE, Md.
Calling foreclosure rates a crisis, Senator Barbara Mikulski is headed to churches in Prince George's County and Baltimore County Thursday for roundtable discussions about the housing industry.

The Democrat says she wants to "gather insight" on the problem and get ideas about what Congress can do to help. Prince George's County leads the state in foreclosure growth. In some neighborhoods, foreclosure rates have grown more than a thousand percent in the last year and a half. Statewide, nearly 10,000 homes were in foreclosure last fiscal quarter.

I've been wondering where all the Elected Officials were when the "Crisis" began? We they basking in their glory knowing the people they represent were able to afford 4,5,800K homes and patting themselves on the back for their District being so good off?

Were they standing up on the chamber floor decrying the increase in property values?

Were they allocating their welfare to give the less then bright a quick course in what they can afford?

I tend to lay blame on the people who thought they could afford a 750K house on a 100K salary, but I think all those in Congress trying to make a good appearence off their concern should be ashamed of letting the loan business go where it did to start with.

Just look at the facts BMikulski d-MD, a 92K 810 sq ft Condo I bought in 1997 sold in December for $344K. That's been going on for a couple years and should have sparked someones interest...someone other than people like me who only stood to gain from the situation. Hmmmm, what did BMikulski d-MD have to gain I wonder?
