further for BrianP ..it's a law already on the books ...... as for "what you do in your car" .. well, you can't drive naked .. you can't be drinking booze, nor can anyone else in your vehicle ..or have an open container .. you must have your seat belt on .. and everyone else must be wearing their seat belts or be in a child safety device ....i and finally .. vehicles with heavily tinted windows can be a hazard for the driver's vision at night or in severe weather ...

brian P .. read the following, from the article: Koermer explained in some cases a driver may be medically exempt from the state law on window tinting. If that is the case, the person must carry a medical waiver from a physician, Koermer said. Out-of-state vehicles also are exempt.

My car's windows can't be tinted for my comfort but SUVs and vans can? This is not a public safety concern or SUVs and vans couldn't be tinted either. What's next? Will we have to build houses with glass walls and no curtains so the police can verify that we aren't selling drugs or possessing weapons at home? My eyes and skin are very sensitive to direct sunlight and the dark tint on my windows makes me comfortable. It also helps preserve my car's interior as the sunlight deteriorates the dash and seats as well. What I do in my car is no one else's business. Got probable cause? Pull me over. Otherwise quit stepping on my rights.
