(Sports Network) - DeJuan Blair posted a career-high 32 points with 14 rebounds as sixth-ranked Pitt cruised past DePaul, 92-69, at Allstate Arena.
Levance Fields and Brad Wanamaker each had 13 points for the Panthers (21-2, 8-2 Big East), who have won three in a row and five of six overall.
Dar Tucker posted 18 points for the Blue Demons (8-16, 0-11), losers of 11 consecutive games. Mac Koshwal also poured in 18 points and Will Walker added 11 in defeat.
Already leading by nine, Pitt pulled away for good with a strong second half. An 11-5 run began the final 20 minutes and put the Panthers up 53-38 on Blair's emphatic slam.
The lead topped 20 points for the first time at 71-50 with 9:17 left in the contest on Wanamaker's long three, and DePaul was only able to get as close as 14 points, on Koshwal's tip with 6:18 to go, to bring the home team within 73-59.
Fields hit a jumper on the next trip down the floor to extend Pitt's advantage to 16 points, then Blair's layup with a little more than 3 1/2 to play pushed their lead to 81-60 and the home team was officially subdued.
Jermaine Dixon's dunk with just over a minute to play provided the final punctuation.
An early 11-4 run capped by Koshwal's jumper broke a tie and put the Blue Demons ahead 18-13 after Tucker hit a pair from the line just after the midway point of the first half.
Blair hit a layup to cap Pitt's 11-6 burst to climb within 24-23, but Tucker's layup completed a 5-0 DePaul run for a six-point edge with 5:11 left before halftime.
Ashton Gibbs then drained a trey and the Panthers finally awoke ending the half on a 19-4 tear and a 42-33 lead at intermission. Dixon connected twice and Fields once from beyond the arc during the run.
