Residents of a Northwest neighborhood are in shock as a body was found early Tuesday morning.
"It's always very quiet, there's very little crime very little disturbance of any time up here so this is just shocking," said neighbor Cheryl Calloway.
Calloway was shocked to see yellow police tape across from her home and the manicured lawns of upper 16th street. A man's body was found before 8 a.m. in the court yard of the Bennett Hall Apartments. The body could be seen from the busy street.
Resident Michael Jeff had just dropped his child at school when he found out, "I pulled up in my driveway and I turned around and look and I seen someone laying on the ground and I couldn't believe it because I never seen things like that around here."

Police said the unidentified man seemed to have suffered facial trauma. Police said it did not appear the man killed himself and detectives have not ruled out the possibility that he was murdered.
Tesfaoie Lench lives in the building where the body was found, "It is really bad I have a wife and daughter who live in this building and every time they come and go, I always worry about them."
Police hope the autopsy will help solve the mystery and sooth concerns, "We don't have a lot violent crime in this area so we're very surprised this morning to get this call for this type of situation," said Commander Linda Brown with the Metropolitan Police Department (web|news) .
Police are hoping the autopsy reports due out on Thursday morning will give them the answers they are searching for.
