Virginia Police: Latest Crackdown 'Best Ever'
   posted 9:17 pm Tue March 11, 2008 -

Virginia State Police say their latest crackdown on Interstates 81 and 95 was their best ever, with more than 8,800 summonses and arrests.

That's more than the previous two-day Operation Air, Land & Speed campaigns on those two corridors, and included 16 arrests for driving under the influence and 91 felony arrests during the crackdown on Sunday and Monday.

It was the eleventh Operation Air, Land & Speed conducted on Virginia interstates in the past two years and brings total summonses and arrests to just over 60,000.

State police will hold another one in May on interstates in northern Virginia.

As much as I hate to burts your bubble jd, the state ceased to continue collecting the abusive driver fees, and any "revenue" generated from these tickets goes either to the court sytem in the form of court processing fees and the fines go to the states literary fund which is used by the schools.

Relax, not everything is a conspiracy.
