Sgt. Alexander Pak, the Marine injured Friday during live-fire training exercise, was released from Inova Fairfax Hospital the same day after medical personnel determined his injury were not serious.

Pak, a range coach with Weapons Training Battalion, received a gunshot wound to the back and was treated by medical personnel on site before being transported by helicopter to the hospital.

There were medical personnel at the scene, that treated the Marine before he was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital.

The range where the incident occurred was immediately shut down and is still not fully operational as the incident remains under investigation.
