An Oregon man claims he is pregnant and is scheduled to give birth to a baby girl in July.

In a first person account currently on the advocate's website, Thomas Beatie said he used to be a woman. About eight years ago, before he had a sex change, he had chest reconstruction surgery and decided to keep his female reproductive organs. Now, Beatie said he is five months pregnant.

The news, shocked some neighbors like Oregon resident Deanna Smith, "No, I'm just like whoa!" Ron Schlieper didn't quite believe it, "Quite frankly, I think it's a hoax. I saw him just a few days ago, he didn't look like that. He was walking down the street with his, what I thought was his wife, Nancy and, um I don't recall seeing a belly."

The couple hasn't been seen at their Oregon home in days, one neighbor said they were in New York and that a TV crew had been following their every move.

Neighbor Josh Love joked that any man could look pregnant,  "I couldn't say that he looked pregnant, I mean, I could stick my stomach out and almost make it look like that."

In his first advocate article, Beatie said he had to go to several doctors before finding one that would help him get pregnant.
