A US Airways pilot whose gun fired inside the cockpit says he was trying to stow the weapon as the crew got ready to land.A police report obtained Wednesday says the pilot gave the gun to a federal air marshal after the plane landed Saturday at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. Police were notified about an hour later.

Federal Air Marshal Service spokesman Greg Alter says the shooting is still under investigation.

Okay it didn't endanger anyone on board but IT COULD HAVE and therefore I hate to even utter this but I see and smell a lawsuit by some passenger(s) on that plane. I think it's a good idea for pilots to be armed, especially after 911. I am happy everyone was got off unharmed.
