How often do these kids have gym class?

Growing up, in elementary school, I had gym class once a week, and in middle school and high school (until 10th grade), I had gym every day. Once a week isn't a whole lot of activity. But my parents made sure I was active. I would be outside constantly, running around and playing, riding my bike, and in the summer, going to the pool, and also was enrolled in sports outside of school, like soccer and basketball. Maybe if parents tried to get their kids to do more outside of school, instead of playing on the computer or with their gaming systems, they'd get more physical activity.

It's not all up to the schools to raise your kids to be healthy and active kids.

I agree with you logue. If you don't pay now, you'll pay down the road.

I wonder if under Hillarycare or Obammascare they will be able to get liposuction before the 3rd grade?

Our kids need exercise that is why we have so many health related problems. We are over indulging and not exercising. Our kids need to exercise and lose weight. They need to put more funding into these programs. Pretty soon these kids are going to be bigger than their parents. Well some already are.

So tell me, how much extra money would it cost to get kids out in the play yard at school on the running track, wherever, and do a couple of laps? Or stand in lines and do "jumping jacks" and knee bends like we used to do in the old days? Next story will be "a surge in obesity among Maryland children."

Hmm
If illegal aliens were banned from the schools, there would be more money to fund appropriate activities like PE, art, and music. Now, when the kids who are legal residents grow up they will be in too poor shape to do the physical labor that the illegals are supposedly the only ones willing to do (although for a fair wage, legal residents will take those jobs). The adults in poor shape will also be more likely to hire someone else to do their cleaning and landscaping, right? Maybe this is part of the legislator's plans. All they seem to care about is providing cheap labor to the businesses that donate to their campaigns, instead of helping American kids be healthy and well-educated in classrooms that are a manageable size and are not held in toxic trailers.

Good its not fair making all those FAT kids exercise. Lets put another billion dollars in health care to combat all their weight related illneses
