An Internet advertisement promised sex with a local child, and a D.C. man got more than he bargained for when officers say he answered the ad, with cash in hand.

In federal court today, an undercover Fairfax County (web|news) Detective working for the FBI (web) played a recorded phone conversation where 29-year-old Adam Bryant allegedly offered to pay $1,000 to have sex with a 13-year-old girl. As part of the undercover sting, the detective posing as a father offering his daughter for sex placed an ad in Craigslist.

Prosecutors say, Bryant, an attorney in Northern Virginia and consultant for a large area accounting firm answered the ad and arranged to meet the father and daughter in a restaurant on Pentagon Row. When he arrived police arrested him.

And now, prosecutors announced in court today that they are investigating Bryant's involvement in several other child prostitution cases that allegedly occurred over the past couple of years.

"You wouldn't expect something like that in an area like this. A lawyer meeting a thirteen-year-old kid is really messed up," said Arlington resident, Dan Crane.

In court, prosecutors alleged that a search of Bryant's cell phone records showed that since 2006 he had made contact with seven other known child prostitutes.

"It's really unfortunate and I am really glad he got caught," said District resident, Lankier Fernando.

The judge in this case ordered Bryant be held without bond until the grand jury takes up his case.
