(Sports Network) - Elon University announced Monday that a search is underway for men's head basketball coach Ernie Nestor's replacement.
Nestor joined the program in 2003 and finished with an overall record of 67-117 during his six seasons.
"Coach Nestor has made significant contributions to our basketball program and we thank him for his years of service," said athletic director Dave Blank. "We hope to identify a new head coach who can build on this foundation and achieve even greater success in the highly competitive arena of NCAA Division I basketball."
Nestor, who has been in college coaching since 1976, previously served as an assistant at the University of South Carolina, Wake Forest University, James Madison University and the University of California. He was also the head coach at George Mason University for five years (1988-1993).
