Manassas, Va. - Crestwood Professional Center North is an office park housing dentists and pediatricians, as well as, police claim, a brothel operating under the cover of a spa.
Two women were arrested Tuesday for allegedly running a brothel out of their Manassas massage therapy center. Eva Therapy purported to offer therapeutic massage, but some reported to police that more than massage was going on behind its doors.
Police say they received a number of reports that sexual services were being offered at Eva Health Therapy at the Manassas office park.
Rick Flaherty, a Manassas resident, expressed shock: "What, here in River City? You know, it's... unbelievable."
Casual passersby might not notice anything unusual about the inconspicuous office, but neighbors did. They contacted police, who started watching as male patrons visited the establishment. A few of those patrons eventually told police exactly what was going on inside.
And it wasn't only neighbors talking to police: according to court records, a man's wife reported her husband had been here and that he had received sexual services.
Manassas resident Dagmar Kirsop observed, "If it is revenge or what -- I would be very upset. I don't know if I'd call it revenge but you have to think about the health factor."
After a two-month investigation, they moved in to make the arrest and raided the office on Tuesday. They arrested 36-year-old Hua Fang of Fairfax and 48-year-old Sun Dok Kim of Clifton. Fang is charged with maintaining a "bawdy place," while Kim faces that charge plus one of prostitution. To make matters worse, police say, Kim did not even have a massage license.
Both women have been released but are due in court in April. Eva Therapy, meanwhile, is closed.
