Mayor Adrian Fenty and D.C. Council chair Vincent Grey are mourning the death of a five-year-old girl killed in a fire Saturday night. They want to raise awareness about fire prevention among district residents.
Gray says that the tragic death of Asia Sutton should be a wake up call to residents to be sure their homes have working smoke detectors.
Along with officials from D.C. Fire and EMS department, Fenty and Grey hosted a candlelight vigil at 7 p.m. Sunday at the house at the 3400 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast.
