Alex Ovechkin's trophy mantle is about to get more crowded.
The dynamic Capitals (web|news) forward has earned the Art Ross Trophy for leading the NHL in points this season and the Maurice Richard Trophy for scoring the most goals.
Ovechkin is the first Russian-born player to win the Ross and Richard trophies in the same season and the sixth overall to do it in 37 years.
He also is considered a strong contender for the league's MVP award after leading Washington to the playoffs and the Southeast Division title.
Ovechkin won the rookie of the year trophy in 2006.
