Pope Benedict the Sixteenth is scheduled to arrive Tuesday afternoon at Andrews Air Force Base, where he will be greeted by President Bush (web|news|bio) .

The worst congestion is expected around the papal residence on Observatory Circle in northwest Washington. There will be closures on Massachusetts Avenue, a major D.C. Thoroughfare.

Wednesday, streets will be closed as Benedict travels in a midday procession from the White House to the papal residence. That afternoon, the pope will travel along 4th Street in northeast Washington to the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.

Metro riders should also expect crowding Thursday morning when the pope celebrates Mass at Nationals Park.
