Two D.C. police officers were hospitalized Thursday night with potentially serious injuries after their cruiser collided with another vehicle.
D.C. fire department spokesman Alan Etter says the police cruiser collided with a small passenger car about 9 p.m. Thursday in front of a fire station at 14th and Newton streets in Columbia Heights.
The police officers had been responding to a call at the time, police said. It's not clear what caused the crash.
A 23-year-old male officer and a 26-year-old female officer were trapped in their car for a time. Two females in the other car were also taken to a hospital, along with a pedestrian who sustained minor injuries.
