A Manassas man has pleaded guilty to hiring immigrants not authorized to live or work in the country to work at his concrete company

Last month, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent raided CMC Concrete Construction in Manassas and took 34 Latin American nationals into custody.

Fifty-five-year-old Felisberto Magalhaes, who is listed in public records as the company's president, pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court to one misdemeanor charge of hiring illegal immigrants. He was sentenced to one year of probation and ordered to forfeit $122,000, which court documents said was traceable to his offense.

At the time of the raid, an ICE spokeswoman said the detained workers were charged administratively and placed in deportation proceedings.
