(Sports Network) - Kevin Durant poured in a game-high 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds, as Oklahoma City snuck past San Antonio, 96-95, at the AT&T Center.

Jeff Green, Nenad Krstic, and Russell Westbrook added 16 points each for the Thunder, who snapped a three-game skid. Westbrook also had 10 assists for Oklahoma City, which denied the Spurs a playoff-clinching win.

The Thunder also won in San Antonio for the first time since 2004 dating back to when the franchise was located in Seattle.

Tim Duncan paced San Antonio with 21 points and 12 boards. Manu Ginobili ended with 17 points for the Spurs, who have lost two straight games after winning three in a row. Michael Finley added 14 points in defeat.

The Spurs, who held a half-game lead over Houston coming into the game, are now tied with the Rockets for first in the Southwest Division. San Antonio and Houston are also tied for the third seed in the Western Conference while Denver moved into the second seed by a half-game with a win against New York on Tuesday.

Ahead 82-81 early in the fourth quarter, the Thunder rattled off 10 straight points to give themselves some breathing room. A pair of foul shots from Green ended the run with six minutes remaining.

Duncan connected on a pair of shots from the stripe to cut the deficit to 94-90 with 1:52 to play. After Durant missed a mid-range jumper at the other end, Finley drained a trey from the corner to cut the margin to 94-93 with 1:11 left.

Krstic then drilled a jumper to put Oklahoma City ahead 96-93 with 51.6 ticks remaining. Duncan responded with a tip-in for San Antonio to cut the margin to one with 36.9 seconds to go.

Duncan came up huge on the other end with a block, giving the Spurs the ball back with about 13 ticks left. But the Thunder played stingy defense to force a Finley jumper that hit off the back iron as time expired.

The Spurs held onto a 32-29 lead after a back-and-forth battle in the first quarter.

With the score tied at 40 midway through the second frame, the Thunder rattled off six consecutive points and maintained their lead for the remainder of the half, taking a 54-48 advantage into the locker room.

The Thunder started the third stanza with a 14-5 flurry to extend their margin to 68-53. Durant and Krstic each scored six points during the surge.

San Antonio finished strong, though, cut the deficit to 81-75 entering the fourth behind a 7-0 spurt.

Oklahoma City went 17-of-24 from the foul line, while San Antonio went 11- of-16 from the stripe...Spurs center Fabricio Oberto was cleared to play didn't play on Tuesday but did not and missed a third game due to an irregular heartbeat...The Thunder will open a three-game homestand versus the Blazers, Pacers and Spurs on Friday.
