WASHINGTON - As the nation reaches the milestone of President Obama's 100th day in office, there are a lot of strong opinions as to how he is handling the job.
Outside a post office in Capitol Hill, in extremely democratic D.C., President Obama is not just good, on a scale of one to 10, most gave him high marks.
"I give him nine-and-a-half," said one resident.
"I think he's doing a great job," added another resident.
"I am glad he's in there. I helped him get in there and I want the world to know that I love him," said Louise Allen, a D.C. resident.
Outside the Mitchellville South Bowie post office in Prince George's County, opinions were mixed. Some questioned the new president's effectiveness.
"I haven't seen anything different -- the economy is still in the tank," said one man.
"I don't see what his long-term plan is," added another man.
But there was still plenty of support there too. "The brother is supremely intelligent, he's exemplifying leadership," said Rev. Jonathan Weaver, a Maryland resident.
Outside the post office in affluent Great Falls, Va., there was the least support for Obama.
"I loathe the man. I'm not impressed by him. I think he's a disaster for the country," said Gail Ellifritz.
"I don't see how 100 days of spending, raising up the deficit, taxing people into the ground can help the country," added Tom Schaaf, a Virginia resident.
"I think he's got a tough row to hoe but I go with him -- if he can do it good for him," said Kitty Nichols, a Virginia resident.
Many who were asked said they still need time to judge the president. "Come back this time next year and I'll have an opinion," said Kris Rathjen.
