About 300 Virginia Army National Guard soldiers are scheduled to return home this week after serving in the Middle East.
On Wednesday, about 170 soldiers with Fox Company of the 429th Brigade Support Battalion will return to the Fredericksburg Armory. On Thursday, the 130 soldiers of Delta Company, 3rd Battalion of the 116th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, will return.
The troops arrived in Mississippi several days ago.
The Guard units left for training at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, in June 2007 and were deployed that September.
Staff Sergeant Kevin Robinson, a spokesman for the Guard with the 429th, says the soldiers coming home hail from all over the state.
