Young Girl Raped in Silver Spring

Montgomery County (web|news) Police detectives are investigating the sexual assault that happened Monday morning in the New Hampshire Estates Park area of Silver Spring.
Police said their preliminary investigation showed the suspect, Jose Israel Acosta-Ortega, has sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl. When confronted by a family member, Acosta-Ortega ran away on foot.
Detectives have charged Acosta-Ortega with second-degree rape and sexual abuse of a minor. Acosta-Ortega is described as a Hispanic male, 5' 5" tall, weighing 170 pounds and last seen wearing a black tan shirt with tan pants.
Anyone with information on Acosta-Ortega's whereabouts is asked to call the Montgomery County Police at 301-279-8000.
