Herndon Mayor Re-elected, Unofficially

Herndon officials say unofficial results from the town's election show Mayor Stephen DeBenedittis has been re-elected.
Results for Tuesday's town council election show that Richard Downer, Dennis Husch, Connie Haines Hutchinson, David Kirby, William Tirrell Sr. and Charlie Waddell have been elected. Husch, Hutchinson, Kirby, Tirrell and Waddell currently serve on the council and Downer has served previous terms on the council.
The Fairfax County (web|news) Electoral Board, which administers elections for the Town of Herndon, will convene on Wednesday to canvass the returns and certify the results of the election.
The mayor and council will assume office on July 1.
