Customers of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission will see their water bills rise by 8 percent on July 1.
The councils of Prince George's and Montgomery counties agreed to the increase as they approved a $913.7 million budget for the commission.
The utility provides water and sewer service to 1.8 million customers in the two counties.
The budget will fund the commission's operations, and the replacement of 27 miles of water lines and 51 miles of sewer pipes.
