Police Investigate Alexandria Homicide

Police responded to a shooting at an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Furman Lane in the Pen Daw section of Alexandria (web|news) on Saturday.
Shortly after 11 p.m., police discovered 49-year-old Michael Anthony Ross, of Suitland, Maryland. He had been shot in the upper body.
The suspect is described as a male, who was wearing dark-colored pants and a black hooded sweatshirt at the time of the incident.
This is the eighth homicide in Fairfax County (web|news) this year, five more than this time last year.
