A man was shot and killed by police Monday afternoon, after a police chase through the rain-soaked streets of Upper Marlboro.

Shortly before 2 p.m., Prince George's County Police investigated a 911 call from a female who said her father's truck was being stolen from the 9700 block of Croom Road.

The suspect fled the scene in the truck, hitting a vehicle along the way, according to police. The pursuit ended one block later in the 9600 block of Croom, where the suspect bailed from the truck.

At least one officer fired at the suspect, hitting him. There were two to three officers on the scene at the time of the shooting, but it's not clear how many shots were fired.

PG Police confirm the suspect died on the scene.
