Baltimore police are waiting to hear from doctors whether the injury to the head of a 2-month-old baby came from a stray bullet.

Family members noticed the boy was injured after shots were fired outside their home in the city's O'Donnell Heights neighborhood.
Police haven't ruled out the possibility the baby might have bumped his head as he was being carried to safety.

The shooting happened shortly after 6 p.m. Monday in the 6100 block of Plantview Way. Police say someone fired several shots and at least one penetrated a wall and entered the house.

Police took two young men into custody for questioning soon after the shooting.
