The annual list of the most congested intersections in Montgomery County (web|news) is out, WTOP-FM reports.

Topping the list of the 2008 Highway Mobility Report:

Great Seneca Highway at Muddy Branch Road tops the list.
Great Seneca Highway (Md. 119) at Muddy Branch Road
Georgia Avenue (Md. 97) at Randolph Road
Frederick Road (Md. 355) at King Farm Boulevard 
Connecticut Avenue (Md. 185) at Jones Bridge Road
Rockville Pike (Md. 355) at W. Cedar Lane
Shady Grove Road at Midcounty Highway
Norbeck Road (Md. 28) at Bel Pre Road
Connecticut Avenue (Md. 185) at East-West Highway (Md. 410)
Norbeck Road (Md. 28) at Avery Road
New Hampshire Avenue (Md. 650) at Randolph Road 

Planners analyzed 422 intersections in determining the list. The list is part of a report detailing actions the county should consider to improve the commute.

Two intersections could be improved as part of the Base Realignment and Closings changes coming the Bethesda National Naval Medical Center on Wisconsin Avenue.
