Authorities say two homemade bombs containing toilet bowl cleaner and tinfoil packed inside a plastic bottle exploded at a Fort Washington high school.
The first bottle bomb exploded inside a bathroom at Friendly High School around 9:15 a.m. with the second one exploding in a hallway 30 minutes later.
The school was evacuated after investigators were told that there were two more bombs in the school. The devices were found and they did not explode.
Sgt. Mario Ellis, spokeman for the P.G. County Sheriff's Office said two students have been arrested. One of the students is a senior and the other is a sophomore. Both students face criminal charges. School officials say the senior will not be able to walk at graduation or attend the prom. The sophomore will be recommended for expulsion.
A surveillance camera caught the second perpetrator setting the second bottle bomb and that is how he was caught. A third person is being questioned by authorities.
The school was re-opened around 12:45 p.m. Some students were able to leave with their parents.
The last day of classes for seniors is next week, the last day of tests was today. No injuries were reported.
