(Sports Network) - Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum underwent successful arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, the club announced Wednesday. Dr. David Altchek performed the 30-minute procedure to remove some cartilage debris and sooth some rough spots on the underside of the kneecap.
Bynum is expected to be ready by the start of training camp.

The 20-year-old first injured the knee in a January 13 game against Memphis. He was in the middle of a breakout year before suffering the injury, averaging 13.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 2.1 blocked shots in 35 games.
