(Sports Network) - The Chicago Fire started the season with two wins in their first three games, and allowed just two goals in the process.
Although Chicago (2-0-4) is the only undefeated team left in MLS, it has given up seven goals in its last three matches.
The displays have defender Gonzalo Segares, who scored the second goal in last week's late rally for a 2-2 draw against Columbus, worried.
"We're having trouble in the back; we're conceding a lot of goals, and we don't like that," Segares said. "because we consider ourselves to be a good team defensively and lately we haven't been doing well."
Chicago will try to correct its problems in the back Saturday when it hosts the Seattle Sounders FC at Toyota Park.
"I think we've just got to improve that; so right now we're struggling a little bit defensively but we've just got to keep the same mentality," Segares said, "keep working throughout the weeks and hopefully everything will come through."
Luckily for Chicago, it also has the leading scorer in MLS, Brian McBride, and an MLS-high 12 goals. McBride leads the league with five goals, including three in his last two games, and was named MLS Player of the Month on Thursday.
McBride has 10 goals in 17 league matches since rejoining MLS last season - he was playing in the English Premier League - and has proven to be a major factor for the Fire.
McBride, a former U.S. international, faces former teammate Kasey Keller this weekend. Keller, in his first season in MLS, has not allowed a goal yet. He has a shutout streak of 389 minutes to start the season - and his career - which is an MLS record.
Seattle (4-2-0) has lost two games but one was after Keller was ejected and the second when he had to serve a one-game suspension.
"Most teams I've been on, I've had a couple good runs at different times, and that kind of shows I've been with a lot of teams," said Keller, the former U.S. No. 1. "But this is cool ... to go four games and 30 minutes without conceding a goal."
Seattle has been impressive at home (3-1-0), and does have a victory at Toronto FC to its credit in two away matches. The Sounders have some injury concerns as Taylor Graham (sesamoid fracture), Stephen King (groin), Jarrod Smith (quad) and Peter Vagenas (knee surgery) on the injury list.
The Fire also have concerns with Justin Mapp (hamstring), Peter Lowry (knee), Calen Carr (ACL tear), Daniel Woolard (ankle) and C.J. Brown on the injury list.
Chicago will visit Seattle on July 25 for the teams' only other meeting of the regular season.
