MANASSAS, Va. - Prince William County (web | news) police are looking for the public's help tracking down three men who crashed a stolen truck into a pawn shop in order to steal guns. It's amazing surveillance video you'll only see on ABC 7.

It's the first theft in the two decades Manassas Pawn has been in business. The thieves used a stolen truck to ram the front window at high speed. They smashed through brick, glass, and steel bars early Thursday morning. Police say the trio wanted to steal firepower and they got it.

"They are probably in the hands of people who aren't allowed to have guns and that's dangerous," said Scott Wilson, the owner of Manassas Pawn.

It took the men just 31 seconds to scale over the debris, jump the counter, smash open a display case with a baseball bat and steal six handguns. Then the thieves crawled over back over the rubble, bypassing the truck.

The staff at Manassas Pawn, where plywood now covers the store front, remains in shock after the destructive smash-and-grab burglary.

"I was heartbroken," Wilson said.

The damage will cost thousands of dollars to repair, but the most immediate concern for the store and police is to find the thieves, and especially those weapons.

"Hopefully, if they are dumb enough to steal guns, hopefully they aren't smart enough to not get caught," Wilson said.

Freeze the video and you see two thieves wore blue gloves and the other wore black gloves, a checkered shirt and what looks like a pair of Converse sneakers. Another wore a pair of black Nikes. All three faces were covered but police and Wilson hope the video helps lead to their capture and the stolen guns.

"Most of our customers are understanding," Wilson said. "They feel for us and they say they are praying for us."

"Hopefully these guys will get caught," he added.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Prince William County Crime Solvers at 703-670-3700 or toll-free at 1-866-411-8477.
